In 2019, the ESE Foundation funded the installation of a turf field and the renovation of the surrounding area. East Side students are now able to play outside right after it rains in a safe and healthy environment. The CDC reports that benefits of physical activity in children include (but are not limited to) the following: 
  • Improving their memory, attention, and concentration.
  • Helping them stay on-task in the classroom.
  • Reducing disruptive behavior in the classroom.
  • Improving their social and emotional development (e.g., learning how to share and negotiate).
