What is Makerspace? Makerspace is a Specials class rotation (along with Art, Computer Lab, Music, PE, and STEM Lab). It is a place for your child to engage in learning opportunities that allow tinkering, creating, exploring, discovering, and utilizing a variety of materials. Makerspace is completely funded by the Foundation (full teacher's salary and supplies)! Thanks to your donations we are able to keep the size of Specials classes smaller and encourage our children to create and explore!
Who is Mrs. Cushing (aka Mrs. C)? Mollie Cushing graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in elementary education and received her master’s degree in elementary education from Georgia State University. After teaching for seven years, she was fortunate enough to stay home with her children for many years. During that time, she volunteered and taught STEM at East Side. Her love for STEM inspired her to teach Makerspace, where students apply their STEM learnings in a hands-on environment
