Testimonials

Are you an East Side parent that is curious to know what the East Side teachers and administration think of the Foundation? Here is some great feedback on past uses of your donations. For more please follow us on Twitter!

I just wanted to say thank you so much for reimbursing See Saw and paying for Generation Genius. I apologize for not emailing you sooner. I wanted to send you some pictures of some of the activities students have been completing using SeeSaw. They really have fun using SeeSaw and sharing with their classmates. Parents love to read and see the teacher feedback on their child’s work. You are all so amazing and help to make teaching and learning in the classroom for students fun and engaging. East Side is the best school to teach!
With Warmest Regards,
Janell

Thank you so much for providing reader’s theater scripts for our 3rd-5th grade classes, as well as special education. These special scripts allow teachers to differentiate their reading and strategy groups to work on fluency. For example, one set of scripts has roles for readers on levels M-X.  That means students on different levels are able to read together to work on a common goal-better fluency and comprehension. Reader’s theaters are also lots of fun! The scripts were put into the literacy lab last week and they are already being checked out!

Thank you for also supplying twelve, new leveled reader sets for K-2 classes and special education. We needed to update several lower reading levels and this was a great start! The fiction additions have also received a warm welcome and are already being used in classrooms. As we are growing readers across all levels, these books are a necessity.

We are so thankful for the materials, the volunteers who help run our literacy lab, and the overall support of our Foundation and PTA.

Thank you,
East Side Teachers

Thank you so much for the generous grant you gave us earlier this year. Third grade purchased 5 Versatiles classroom kits. The Versatiles kits differentiate Math work and allow students to independently check for accuracy. Each book focuses on skills that are aligned with our Math standards.
I have kids testimonials below and pics attached!

Steven: “Versatiles help because if you get it incorrect you know the pattern is wrong, but if you get it right the pattern is right.”
Alek: “It’s kind of challenging but you can solve it in your head. It has lots of word problems.”
Owen: “I like it because it’s fun and it’s challenging. I can see that I am right by looking at the picture.”
Kendall: “It helps me because it has all kinds of problems with addition and subtraction.”
Ryan:” Fun, challenging problems!”
