TEACHER TRAININGS
Hello Literacy Conference – Ms. Larsson (1st) will be attending this September. (Registration and substitute teacher cost paid for by Foundation)
Balanced Literacy Writing Series hosted by CCSD ELA Department – Ms. Brown (2nd), Ms. Gibbon (3rd), Ms. Stewart (4th) and Ms. Glidewell (5th) will be attending sessions in August and October. (Substitute teacher costs paid for by Foundation)
Carl Anderson Student Writers Conference – The EIP team (Ms. Arnette, Ms. Ayres and Ms. Kidd) and Kelly Anderson will attend conference in December. (Registration fee paid for by Foundation)
Georgia Public Schools Speech Language Pathology Conference - Ms. Collier will attend conference in September. (Registration fee paid for by Foundation)
Georgia School Counselors Association Conference  - Ms. Garrett, 2nd and 3rd grade counselor, will attend conference in November. (Registration fee and hotel paid for by Foundation)
Greg Tang Intervention Workshop - Ms. L. Jones (3rd) and Ms. Stephens (2nd) will attend this workshop in October. (Registration and substitute teachers paid for by Foundation)
Social Thinking Conference - Ms. Shay (1st), Ms. King (1st), Ms. Peevey (2nd), Ms. Pennington (2nd), Ms. Reuther (Special Ed), 4 upper grades special education teachers, our speech and language pathologist, our student services administrator, and an assistant principal. The social thinking methodology teaches perspective taking, social skills, identifying and self-regulating emotions, and tools for overall social understanding. Not only is the curriculum benefiting students with special needs, but also typically-developing students. This allows teachers to strengthen their abilities to share strategies with the Response to Intervention team, write effective goals and objectives for students with IEPs, and redeliver exceptional information to teammates.
GRADE LEVEL CLASSROOM GRANTS
25 noise reducing headphones for Mrs. Behrens’s class to block sound from music classroom.
Phonological Awareness Resource (OG) Kits for K & 1st Grades. Requested by Ms. Clark.
Quick Word Books for 1st and 2nd grade. Requested by Ms. Brown.
Studyworks and Superscience Articles for Ms. Bunn 4th grade inclusion class
Scholastic Guided Reading Assessment Kits & 8 Next Step Forward in Guided Reading Books for 4th grade. Requested by Ms. Keener.  
Student Relaxation Kits for every classroom. Requested, designed and implemented by the Guidance Counselors.
Writing to Text Books for 3rd grade. Requested by Mihaela Brooks as a supplemental resource for the Lucy Calkins Units of Study.
Math Computation Sets for 1st grade. These are manipulatives to reinforce Cuisenaire Rod training and additional Greg Tang games and Wordy Wednesday which allow for ​differentiated extension opportunities.
